Let’s do a driving protest! We put signs in the windows, ride like ducks in a row, and cover ground!
Hi All! What say you? It’s an alternative on extreme weather days. I think we can come up with some creative ways to do this. Drive up and down Main Street a few times, up and down Piermont and Knickerbocker, back to Main St. We could drive around the Monument circle repeatedly! Lol
This opens up different times to us, and some driving protests can take less time than a protest on the street. A few cars driving up Homans Ave. at drop-off or pickup times at Hillside or Tenakill might be something. Let’s think about this. Thanks to Tomasina for sharing this. I didn’t know that Visibility Brigade does this.
2/7/26 Protest Report
2/7/26: Terri, Barbara, Marjorie, Ben, John, Cynthia, Karen, Larry, Cathy—who had our path cleared.
Hi All!
We were 10 people today. It was mad cold, and the wind was a sign-ripper. I lost my sign and had to chase it twice. We lasted a half-hour and got many honks. Traffic was fair to middling. I didn’t see anyone flip the bird, but someone saw a man in a car shake his head.
We came away in awe of Minnesotans. We owe them a great debt.
There is a protest, every Saturday, 12-1pm, on Vervalen St., in front of the Closter Plaza. On extreme days like today, we can do a driving protest. If a protest is canceled for weather, I’ll send an email Friday night. I want to cancel for rain and snow. Let me know what you think.
Bonnie
