Hi All!
Well, another good day of feet on the street. All the stalwarts were there, with signs and a palpable glee at getting out on the street again. Only two months and four days, and we were all looking for a nice get-together. The weather cooperated, though it put on a bad face, with grey clouds and the raw dampness of determined Winter. But, no wind, the key to our comfort!
We were 19 people, including a couple newcomers. So, that ratio was heartening. We didn’t get ton of beeps or fingers, but the finger people were extra angry! The group was in very high spirits, and remained unfazed. Can anybody think of a reason to have another protest soon? Winter’s dicey, but we can do another ad hoc protest when we see the weather report looks amenable to outside action. We had a four-day lead for the J6 protest.
Too many stayed home! Yes, it was cold, but not very. There was no wind or precipitation. It was important to make a good showing out there. Showing up is more than half the battle in this numbers game. I’m disappointed. Perception is everything, and we can’t look like we’re faltering or not committed.
I listed the protest on mobilize.us, where I promote protests I host, at closterpatriots. Good site to check what’s going on around us and opportunities we have to show up and bring our resistance along. Idk when the next national protest will be called, but there so many of us are just chomping at the bit, honestly, I can’t wait.
We had 7 million come out to No Kings, in October, and I hope we’ll have 11 million next time. We were between 850 and 1K at Closter No Kings, so if 11 million is 1.57 times greater than 850, then, GOAL: we need 1,334 at our next national protest. Now is the time to get these additional protesters on board! It’s up to YOU!
In Solidarity,
Bonnie
