I’m Grateful for the Blessing in Disguise
Hi All! I’m grateful for another chance in our lifetime to make democracy history. We didn’t resist when our rights were challenged after 9/11; in 2010, with Citizens United giving money more power than the people; or in 2021, when our Congress failed to indict a traitor. We traded our power for promises and fear of fear.
I’m so grateful that we know what we have to do now, and that so many are doing it. Thank you!
I’m grateful for your efforts, resulting in probably hundreds of actions. I’d like to think that we have taken hundreds, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there were thousands. And, you are protesters par excellence!
So much accumulates during the week. Instead of putting actions in an email, I’ve begun putting them on closterpatriots@blusky.social. Please go there a few times a week and check what’s up. There are also training videos there, which I post as they become available. It’s good to hear what others are doing and about plans to do more. And there, we can share ideas in comments. Join in the conversation!
Please be sure to take the actions in the last two letters. Share the closterpatriots@blusky.social page. I hope you’ll have a conversation with someone this weekend that lends perspective or suggests an action. (There’s a post on closterpatriots@blusky.social, from the ACLU, that has suggestions for holiday dinner conversation.) Thinking of bright paths forward and how to find them together is key. Our job is to show up so they can see our resistance, feel it like a sounding in the guts, because every time we don’t show up for a fight, it’s a loss. We will prevail!
Have a grand holiday!
Bonnie
