Hi All! Miami now has its first woman mayor Eileen Higgins, the first Democratic mayor in 28 years! Milestones! The task now is straightforward—to keep the pressure on and maintain momentum. It’s to make the last few weeks of ’25 as bad for the Trump administration and the Republican party as the past couple months have been.
I emailed the Republican shaming letter to Booker, Kim, and Gottheimer, to share with their Republican peers, and will snail-mail 12 letters over the next three weeks to 11 Republican Senators. And one to Mike Johnson, to share with his fellow problems in the House.

Congress is in session for 12 days before it breaks for the holidays. Buy a book of stamps and mail one shaming letter each to 12 Republicans of your choice, House or Senate. Text is below, in Actions. Their street addresses are available online.

Have a peep. This kind of info is useful to find problems and focus to destroy this administration.
Give fighting for our democracy and pocketbook policies a drawer in your mind. Go into it every day. Take actions, sign petitions, share posts, share the weekly letter. Work with groups focusing on issues important to you. There are many like-minded people in this group, and sharing what you’re doing and your comments in emails to me and on closterpatriots@blusky.social could lead to forming subgroups that will work together on issues most important to us.

A cohort was a standard tactical military unit of a Roman legion. Although the standard size changed with time and situation, it was generally composed of 480 soldiers. A cohort is considered to be the equivalent of a modern military battalion. The cohort was the most important tactical unit in the Roman army. They could operate independently and offered flexibility and maneuverability, allowing the legions to quickly adapt to different combat situations.
