Hi All! I’d like to get a few things in place. Please get back to me asap, if you can do any of these things.
This is the most important, at the moment:
We need FOUR more Safety Leads for No Kings3. Please email me asap to sign up for that. It’s imperative that we have this protection, and it’s required by Indivisible. Nonviolence and safety are prime concerns in the assembly of so many, and we expect about 1,000 people to come. (Two of our SLs have had to drop out, so we must replace them. Even with them, we needed two more.)
🤞🏻🤞🏻These are important for sharing our No Kings3 festivities and results far and wide:
Counters/crowd estimators — We need at least three people for this. It’s quite a challenge to count this many people. At some point, we have to guesstimate, so don’t think exactitude is required. Counters who respond can decide among themselves how best to achieve a somewhat reliable count.
Video—any video is welcome* — Need someone to drive up and down the street wherever there are protesters and video at street level. This person should be able to share the pix directly with No Kings.
*Select your favorite 10 photos & videos—it’s okay if you select more—and rename the files (ie: AustinTX_Speaker1.mov OR BostonMA_March.mov OR ChicagoIL_FunnySign.jpeg)
- After you have renamed your files, send them to photos@nokings.org
Pix* — One person has volunteered to take pix. We need many, not only to take pix, but to upload them to the No Kings link.

Many people sent me their pix and vids last No Kings, but I was unable to upload them. I’m on a steep tech-learning curve here, and doing my best to get up to speed. That’s not going well. 🤷♂️
Create a petition — Need someone to work with me to create a petition for a proposed resolution to counter ICE and support residents in Closter. We’re getting pushback from our borough council, and want to show that there is a call for this action by concerned residents. No Kings is an unparalleled opportunity to gather the number of signatures we need. We’ll have this at the Democratic Club table, and maybe someone could walk around a find signees, as well. Someone suggested a QR code to link to the petition. Idk. Seriously, you might as well ask me to build a rocket ship as do this. 😱
🍀🍀 The most exciting news I have to share is that we’re going to have drone video of our No Kings3!! 🍀🍀
I’m planning on this being a game-changer in a couple ways. First, it will get us on public airwaves, and be so impressive that our numbers will grow! Second, it will give us a bird’s-eye view of what success looks like! A wonderfully generous member of our group has offered to do this for us. It’s a big outlay for him, and I cannot tell you how grateful I am! This is indicative of the level of support our resistance has at this point. Heaven bless our true patriots! We Will Win!!Nonviolence is the foundation and unshakable character of our protest success. Even if you’re not a Safety Lead, please watch this. It’s important to learn what nonviolent practices are recommended.

Work to your strengths! No one would ask Olive Oil to throw around anvils. No one would ask Bluto to sing, I Like a Clean-Shaven Man!
With great hopes and appreciation for you!

| KEY RESOURCE! Photography + Video Tips. Here are some tips to keep in mind when taking photos and videos at your event. • Tell a Story. Capture wide shots to set the scene, medium shots to show the action, and close-ups to capture emotion or details (e.g., signs, faces, hands, etc.). • Focus on Emotion & Action. Look for moments of strong emotion or significant movement (chanting, marching, embracing, confronting). These make the most powerful images. • Keep It Steady. If shooting video, try to keep your phone or camera stable. A small tripod or handheld stabilizer helps, or use a wide stance and steady grip. • Use Natural Light. Avoid using flash, especially at night—it can draw unwanted attention and flatten the scene. Look for light sources like streetlights or lit signs. • Record Ambient Sound. Sound can carry just as much emotional weight as visuals. Record ambient sounds: chants, speeches, silence, tension. |
