Hi All! The overall turnouts at our protests don’t reflect the severity of our national crisis. Our protests are about reclaiming our rights and our democracy, making those points visible and unmissable. Please get in touch with your local Democratic club to find activists who will show up with you. Go to a meeting and make your pitch.
Low numbers make us look like a straggle of malcontents. Perception is everything. We know that many more people are against this regime than are showing up. Only you can change that. We have to be stronger than those who would make the USA a dictatorship.
I know that some people don’t like to protest, have things to do, places to go, and people to see. Maybe you have to milk the elk every Saturday at noon. Idk, but we need you!
My fix for this is to offer another weekly protest, Friday evenings, from 5pm to 6pm, on the corner of Piermont Road and Vervalen Street. So, now there will be two protest times available. As the weather warms and further regime atrocities develop, I’m hoping more people will come out and be seen. We have 42 eateries in Closter! Come to the Friday evening protest, then treat yourself to a nice meal!
I want to thank those who came out Saturday, 5/9, in spite of the confusing messages. It didn’t rain and we were there, making our point. I learned the a traffic light will be installed at Piermont Road and Vervalen Street, giving us a captive audience in future.
We’re the light of hope for many. We cannot fail. And, it takes almost nothing to give an hour of time to break the silence of complicity.
